Miami Beach Mimouna: The Largest Post-Passover Event in the Country Coming to The Sagamore
The largest Post-Passover event in the country comes to The Sagamore, April 13 at 9 p.m.
Celebrate Mimouna - Miami-style. Join hundreds of other young Jewish professionals from Miami and beyond at The Sagamore’s lush newly redesigned outdoor oasis, as The Miami Sephardic Club presents their second annual Mimouna Party.
The end of Passover is marked by this established tradition that was popularized by Moroccan Jews. Soon after sunset on the last night of the holiday, revelers indulge in lively music, dancing, and delicious food that includes the first leavened food since Passover began (in a nod to ancestors who had no time to let bread dough rise while fleeing Egypt). The most popular holiday dish is moufleta, a thin, pan-fried crêpe smeared with butter and honey.
The Mimouna Party at The Sagamore will have a club-like feel and feature the sweet treats, along with a variety of traditional Moroccan desserts, drinks, a premium DJ, and a Moroccan shuk (outdoor market) to purchase clothing and other Sephardic goods.
Dress is ‘Moroccan Elegant’ - think loose-fitting, embroidered robes or chic kaftan dresses with color and sparkle. A fez is also a good option - a short, cylindrical felt headdress named after the Moroccan city of Fez.
Looking to rediscover and enjoy this vibrant Moroccan tradition? The popularity of the holiday continues to grow among those looking for a lively end to the somber, reflective period of Passover.
