Things to Do this 4th of July in Miami Beach 2024 and the Best Places to Watch Fireworks

Add some spark to your Miami Beach 4th of July celebrations. From spotting SoBe’s red, white, and blue lifeguard kiosk to live music, parties, fireworks, and enjoying classic American eats curbside on Ocean Avenue, it’s time to celebrate the beauty and resilience of the country - Miami style. Make your Independence Day a memorable one with these weekend events and things to do in Miami Beach on the 4th of July.

Spice up your summer with sunshine and sea breeze. Get exclusive savings and special perks when you book direct with The Sagamore Hotel South Beach, an Art Deco gem set on Miami’s best beach and only steps from Lincoln Road Mall, Collins Avenue, and Ocean Drive.

Go to the Fire on the Fourth Festival

The annual beach extravaganza is the most popular get-together in North Beach. Located at Altos Del Mar at the intersection of Collins Avenue and 76th Street, the all-day oceanfront hangout includes DJs, food trucks, and a fireworks and drone display over the beach. Getting to the Fire on the Fourth Festival from The Sagamore is easy. Just hop on the free citywide Miami Beach Trolley (check the website for details). The Festival runs 3 -  9 p.m.

Dine on Classic American Fare

Celebrate the 4th of July in Miami Beach with all-American eats. Visit the retro 11th Street Diner, housed in a railroad-style car, for dishes like hot buffalo wings, smoked BBQ pork melts, and over 20 specialty burgers. Big Pink on Collins Avenue is another Miami Beach institution serving tasty comfort food like creamy milkshakes, beer battered fish and chips, and skillet-baked mac and cheese. Just around the corner from The Sagamore Hotel in the Lincoln Roll Mall, you’ll find Plant Theory, which offers tasty plant-based dishes like the Guava Mariahhh BBQ Burger, ‘Neat’ball Sub, and Cheesesteak Roll made with mushroom tenderloin.

Find the Red, White, and Blue Lifeguard Kiosk

Of the 30+ brightly-colored lifeguard stands that line the coast of Miami Beach from South Pointe Park up to 87th Street, the red, white, and blue stand is the obvious one to visit on the 4th of July. From The Sagamore Hotel, take a leisurely stroll south along the coast to find the iconic stand (hint: it’s next to Lummus Park).

Attend the Independence Day Patriotic Concert in Lummus Park

Bring a blanket and find a spot in Lummus Park at Ocean Drive and 12th Street on the 4th of July for a spectacular evening of music celebrating Independence Day. The MMF Symphony Orchestra and Alumni Division Singers will perform patriotic favorites and Broadway selections before and during the annual fireworks show. Expect classics like the ‘Armed Forces Salute’, Tchaikovsky’s ‘1812 Overture,’ and Sousa’s ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever’ at this special Independence Day Patriotic Concert in Lummus Park. 8:30 p.m.

Chill Out at The Sagamore Hotel

The Sagamore is conveniently located in the heart of Miami Beach and only steps from the biggest 4th of July events in town. Although, leaving our boutique historic Art Deco hotel to enjoy them won’t be easy. And with some of the largest rooms in South Beach, including two-story bungalows and a spacious oceanfront penthouse, why would you? As Miami’s original “Art Hotel,” we host year-round rotating art exhibitions as part of #SagamoreIsArt, and our premium on-site dining options include Water Lion Wine + Alchemy Bar, which was named ‘Best Wine Bar’ by Miami Herald.

Beat the heat at The Sagamore Hotel pool. Our crystal-clear zero-entry pool provides the repose you need to get in that vacation state of mind. Celebrate America’s birthday poolside, with luxury cabanas, breathable chaise lounges, umbrellas, and Baba’s Beach Bar. The poolside bar serves up innovative house cocktails, like the American Glory made with RumHaven Coconut Rum, piña colada, strawberry, and blue curaçao (Happy Hour, Mon. - Fri. 4 - 7 p.m.!).

At The Sagamore, the beach is our backyard. When you stay with us, you’ll gain access to comfortable beach chairs and a host of amenities to make your beachside stay even more luxurious. After a day of swimming, lounging, and catching rays, watch the brilliant shades of pinks, oranges, and yellows that light up the sky as the sun sets over Miami to make way for a dazzling display of fireworks.

Watch Fireworks Over Miami Beach

Grab a seat at a street-side café (News Café or A Fish Called Avalon on Ocean Drive are great options), find an open bench in Lummus Park, perch high above the city at a rooftop bar, or lay out a blanket on the beach to watch the fireworks over Ocean Drive. The free Miami Beach fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. between 5th and 15th Streets. Although this is an annual show, details have yet to be released.
