Two-Wheeling in South Beach: The Best Bike Routes in the Neighborhood

Join the legion of SoBe’s beach cruisers and opt for a day outside. Hopping on your bike and going for an excursion is a great way to unwind, but navigating the streets of Miami Beach can often feel less than relaxing. Luckily, our favorite routes in the neighborhood offer opportunities to ride without worrying about cars. Grab your set of wheels and head to the best bike routes in South Beach.

Stay with The Sagamore for access to our new fleet of custom Linus cycling bikes, designed to get you where you need to go in style. See below for more details.

Miami Beach Boardwalk

The nearly 4-mile long boardwalk flanks SoBe’s eastern shore and extends from the southern tip of the neighborhood at South Pointe Pier all the way up to 46th Street in Mid-Beach. A ride along the Miami Beach Boardwalk bestows incredible views of the coast, Lummus Park, and beachgoers enjoying the sights and ocean breeze. Bikes are not allowed on the wooden segments of the boardwalk, but the paved path south of 21st Street (the Promenade) is bike friendly as long as you ride slowly, are courteous, and yield to pedestrians.

South Pointe Park

The 17-acre park caps the southern border of South Beach and features paths, grassy areas, and a pier. Although the park has heavy foot traffic, wandering the long stretch of path alongside the water provides beautiful views of the bay, downtown Miami skyline, and Fisher Island. Lock your bike up at one of the many racks throughout South Pointe Park and enjoy a walk on the pier or a meal at Smith & Wollensky’s steakhouse, one of the only waterfront restaurants in SoBe.

Ocean Drive

Undoubtedly South Beach’s most iconic street, the palm-lined avenue brings out the best of SoBe. Historic Art Deco buildings, world-renowned entertainment venues and eateries, trendy shops, and classic cars set the scene, while pedestrians add a vibrancy to the mile-long stretch. No doubt one of the busiest places in the neighborhood, taking a cruise down Ocean Drive does have its perks. Traffic moves slow (which can put your mind at ease while navigating) and you will always get front row parking should you decide to stop and spend some time at a café.
