Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Miami Like There’s No Mañana

Miami pays homage to Mexican heritage one of the best ways we know how - with tequila. While originally commemorating the date of the Mexican army’s 1862 epic victory over France at the Battle of Puebla, Cinco de Mayo has since gained popularity around the world as a celebration of Mexican culture. Miami bars, nightclubs, and restaurants get on board with festivities by hosting mariachi bands, lucha libre matches, drink and food specials, and more. So break out the lime and salt and check out the best events taking place in Miami to celebrate this exciting and vibrant holiday.

Bar Crawls

Put on your walking shoes and join one of Miami’s neighborhood bar crawls for an afternoon of local cervezas and mixed drinks. First up is the Cinco de Mayo-Eve Crawl in South Beach. Visit four of SoBe’s best bars, lounges, and nightclubs with VIP entry, free shots, and exclusive drink specials only available to you and fellow crawlers. If you want the bright lights of Miami’s downtown, join Brickell’s 4th Annual Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl. Attend the night of the 4th or 5th for free drinks and ridiculous drink specials at Blackbird Ordinary, American Social, Baru LatinBar, and more. Also on the 4th and 5th, sip your way around the colorful murals of Wynwood during the 3rd Annual Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl. Enjoy drink specials, giveaways, free swag, and no cover charges at places like Booze Garden, SHOTs Miami, and Brick.

Parties

Attend an all-day fiesta celebrating everything Mexican. Cinco de Mayo Brickell is a two-day event (May 4th and 5th) featuring live mariachi performances, mechanical chili rides, confetti drops, lucha libre matches, giant margaritas, and more. Cinco de Wynwood returns to celebrate the largest Cinco de Mayo festival in Miami. The two-day Latin fiesta showcases artisan vendors, food trucks, street games, live DJs and dancing, and lots of tequila. For something different, hit up Miami’s biggest piñata party at Sombreros on the River. The riverside celebration features hundreds of piñatas, live mariachi performances, local eats, and a live DJ set by DJ IRIE. For every shot of tequila purchased, receive a free Corona. RSVP now and get a free sombrero on arrival.
