How to Get Married in Miami Beach Without a Hitch
Ready to say ‘I do’? From finding Miami Beach’s top wedding venue to creating lasting memories for your guests, we’re breaking down the basics to help you plan the wedding of your dreams. Here’s how to get married in Miami Beach without a hitch.
Hire a Wedding Planner
Help ease the stress of your big day by hiring a wedding planner to handle the details. Wedding planners typically have industry connections, be it money-saving deals, access to the best vendors, or local package perks. A planner can also act as a designated damage control manager. Wedding planners have almost certainly faced dilemmas, so having someone in your corner will make the process feel less chaotic. Scan Miami Beach wedding planners to find your perfect match.

Book Your Vendors
With your dream venue booked and your wedding planner in tow, it’s time to get invitations in the mail and start looking for vendors. You’ll need attire, rings, and hair and makeup professionals, as well as a photographer and videographer to capture the day. Plan a Miami-inspired menu and find a cake baker and florist to bring your vision to life. Check out The Sagamore’s sample menu for tasty dishes your guests will love. Lastly, you’ll want to find the perfect band or DJ to set the celebratory mood for you and your guests during the ceremony and reception.
Ensure Your Wedding Guests Have a Blast
Begin by booking your guests comfortable and convenient accommodations at The Sagamore. Guests love our boutique accommodations within walking distance of all of South Beach’s most popular attractions like Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, and the beach. Compile a list of transportation options, places to eat, drink, and play for your guests. Check out 10 Essential Things to Do for First Time Visitors to South Beach for inspiration. Put together a welcome bag for your guests upon their arrival and wedding favors thanking them for their attendance. We recommend including items such as local snacks, souvenirs, a weekend itinerary, and a list of your recommendations.
Get Licensed in Miami-Dade County
Couples will need to apply for a marriage license together through the Marriage License Bureau of Miami-Dade County. Visit the Miami Beach District Court at 1130 Washington Ave. #200 (only a half-mile from The Sagamore) to apply. Present valid photo identification, your social security number (non-U.S. citizens may present an Alien Registration Card, or Passport number), and make sure you have enough money to cover the necessary fees. Florida residents have a mandatory 3-day waiting period before the marriage license becomes effective, so plan ahead (non-residents are exempt from this). Make sure your officiant returns the certificate to the Miami-Dade County Marriage License Bureau within 10 days. Visit the Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts for more information.
The Sagamore’s Penthouse Suite serves as the perfect bridal suite, featuring a private elevator, over 1,700 sq. ft. of marble floors and luxury finishes, and an 1,800 sq. ft. exterior terrace with sweeping ocean views.
