What to Pack for a Bike Day in Miami Beach

Navigating the South Beach bike trails on your beach cruiser is easy, but it’s what to pack that requires the most thought. We’re here to make sure you have the essentials. Here’s what to pack for a bike day in Miami Beach.

Stay with The Sagamore for access to our new fleet of custom Linus cycling bikes, designed to get you where you need to go in style. Enjoy a complimentary 2-hour ride during your stay and explore all Miami Beach has to offer. Bikes are available on a first come, first served basis.

Now that we got your ride covered, let’s get to packing.

The Basics

Stash your ID, credit card, sunglasses, and cell phone in your pocket and leave the purse in your hotel room. Less is more when you’ll be on the move. Wear clothes that are lightweight, versatile, and easy enough to strip down to your swimsuit if you want to jump in the water. We recommend a breathable top and shorts. Linus bicycles are the quintessential comfortable and functional beach cruiser (they’re from Venice, California afterall), so footwear isn’t a top priority. Flip flops, heels, tennis shoes - wear what makes you comfortable. It’s best to check the weather ahead of time to avoid any chilly or rainy day surprises.

Backpack

Our Linus cruisers are equipped with a rear bicycle basket, but if you think you’ll need extra storage space, opt for a lightweight backpack to avoid maneuvering a bike with a tote slung on one shoulder. Pack your bag with beach gear like a swimsuit, towel, and sunblock. You may even do some shopping while you buzz around the neighborhood. So always leave enough space in your backpack for the items you might bring back to The Sagamore

Food for Fuel

Healthy and portable snacks and water are a must. Grab a bottle of water to recharge and refill as you make your way around town. Slugging extra water bottles around just isn’t practical. Choose mineral-rich foods to keep your electrolytes balanced. Whole grains and carbohydrate-heavy snacks like protein bars and trail mix are good options, or go all out and pack a full picnic to enjoy on the beach.

Ready to take to the streets of SoBe? Grab your gear and head to our favorite bikeable spots. Our guide to biking the Miami Beach Boardwalk, South Pointe Park, and Ocean Drive will get you where you need to go.
